The Bergans have invaded Troll Village, Poppy (Anna Kendrick), the happiest Troll of the bunch and Branch (Justin Timberlake), the complete opposite, have to go on a journey to save their friends.
Trolls really serves its purpose. It’s a competent, cute, and fun animated flick. The story is simple enough for any child to follow and become invested. The bright, vibrant, and up beat colors make this world a sight worth taking in.
The voice work is really good here. Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake have a real chemistry that shines through. The musical numbers in the film are so much fun. They all fit within the story and don’t feel like music for the sake of music. This soundtrack is going to be streamed a lot in the coming weeks for sure.
Trolls is a great time at the cinema for kids who want a new film to watch. At the showing I attended there was a little girl who had the stuffed troll of Anna Kendrick’s character. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s about.
