Boo! A Madea Halloween $27M
I respect Tyler Perry for doing his best to give his friends jobs in his Madea movies. I believe if you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. This one isn’t going to win over anyone who doesn’t like the series, but you’ll love it if this is your thing. These always make a pretty penny for the studio.
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back $23M
The sequel opened up to a bigger opening than the original, which usually serves as a good sign. When you break it down, that may not be true. We’re rolling into Oscar season pretty soon, and there’s a Marvel movie opening in two weeks. I don’t see this having big legs. I see it dropping 55-60% next week. It was a really solid action film, and personally I love Tom Cruise. He could end up with another franchise if this performs well overseas.

Ouija: Origin of Evil $14M
You’ve heard me say that this is the year for horror. Not only at the box office, but with the quality of the films as well. There’s been some really good ones this year and Ouija is right up there. Director Mike Flanagan has a really bright future ahead of him.

The Accountant $14M
Last weeks champ is holding strong, adding 14 million to its domestic haul. It’s the better of the two action films out right now. It’s good to see it still taking in a good little haul.

The Girl on the Train $7.3M
The legs on this thriller has brought Universal about 60 million in three weeks. It’s a fun, mysterious ride. If you’re into the The whodunnit, you’ll really dig this film.
