Suicide Squad $20.7M
The newest DCEU entry just keeps chugging along. Up to around $262M domestically and an international total of $310M it’s made a pretty penny in three weeks. DC has made so much money for a series that only has three films. No matter how you feel about this new universe, there has to be an acknowledgment of success there. Hopefully they can get more critics on board for Wonder Woman, if so, all bets are off. There’s no telling how much that movie would do.
Sausage Party $15.3M
I’m really surprised at this. With Kubo out this week I thought it would’ve performed better and those two movies would’ve switched spots. That’s no knock on Sausage Party, it’s a blast for sure. Rogen is a draw, whatever he has up next will do big business as well. A sequel has already been green lit, you have to at least be curious right?

War Dogs $14.3M
The weeks first new comer breaking the top 3. I’m a fan of this team, Todd Phillips directing, with Hill and Teller staring. I really loved this film. It’s a bit convent at times, but if you’re going to make something with convinces, execute at the very least. In my opinion they did. It’s a captivating story.

Kubo and the Two Strings $12.6M
The best movie in the top five is Kubo. It’s a Pixar level animated film. Characters are all lovable and the story grabs you and doesn’t let you go. Fun for the whole family. I’m not surprised that McConaughey chose this as his first animated feature.
Paramount must be shaken to the core. They spent $100M to make this film, I truly can’t believe that it could’ve bombed this badly. Usually remakes do pretty well in week one based on curiosity alone. Ben- Hur just felt like it was doomed from the start.
