The original Neighbors was one of the best comedies of 2014. The team of Seth Rogan and Zac Efron are hysterical. The characters of Teddy (Efron) and Mac (Rogan) are at completely different times in their lives in the sequel. Teddy is crashing at a friends house with no real plan for his life, while Mac now has his second daughter on the way with Kelly (Rose Byrne), until something happens to them that is all too familiar.
Shelby (Chloe Grace Moretz) starts up her own sorority that can do things that others aren’t, like throw massive parties every night. Little does she know, that Mac and Kelly have sunk a Frat before, and they are willing to do so to a Sorority in order to sell their home.
The sequel was better than the original. I laughed throughout, and the addition of the talented Chloe Grace Moretz really put this movie over the top. The lengths that Mac and Kelly went to crush this Sorority were insane. Back and forth they went like a twisted game to take each other down. There’s a scene at a college tailgate that is worthy of the price of admission.
Seth Rogan has spoiled us at this point. He’s so funny in everything that when he’s great in something we just say hey that’s Seth Rogan. This man is a comedic genius.
Efron has developed stellar comedic timing and nails every scene. Chloe Grace was hilarious as well, the back and forth with her and Efron and with Rogan was so funny.
Neighbors 2 is a movie that doesn’t break the mold that made the first one successful, with added elements. I laughed throughout and I believe you will too.
