Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are back for some more laughs. Maura (Poehler) and Kate Ellis (Fey) find out their childhood home is being sold by their parents. The sisters have a wonderful idea that throwing an “Ellis Island” party from their youth will be the way to spend their last night in the home together.
I had a lot of fun with this movie. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are the same in this movie as they are in the other comedies they’ve done together. I enjoy their comedy, and if you do as well, then you’ll love Sisters. There are so many laughs to be had at this massive house party. Most of them come from Bobby Moynihan’s character Alex. All his jokes are timed perfectly, and they hit hard.
The story is the pretty generic. You’ll know how it’s going to shake out within the first fifteen minutes. You’re at a movie like this for Fey and Poehler and you get them in spades. You already know their chemistry is off the charts, and they are just as good here as they have been.
I had a blast watching Sister, I laughed a helluva lot, and watching Fey and Poehler again makes this a fun comedy that keeps you entertained throughout.
